McGregor vs Mendes: 11 minutes till knockout

The Notorious Conor McGregor, you either love him or you hate him. There’s no middle ground. He reminds me a lot of Muhammad Ali—loud, confident, yet athletically gifted. Each sport has an athlete just like this come along every 10 years or so. For the UFC it’s Conor McGregor.  Even the people who hate this guy are always watching to see what he does or says next. Think about that. The people who hate him still can’t turn away.

I know how pumped I’ve been to see him challenge Jose Aldo for the title. To read about Jose Aldo pulling out of the fight due to a bruised rib is certainly frustrating. McGregor didn’t hesitate to give his position along with some hysterical humor when he was interviewed by Conan O’Brien. What’s even more frustrating is knowing that Jose Aldo is known for pulling out of title fights. Is he really hurt?  Is he fearful of losing his belt? Is he transitioning to becoming a paper-champ? Who knows! Don’t get me wrong, Aldo has faced some tough guys and has come out on top.

Now we’re to see McGregor face Chad Mendes, the #2-ranked featherweight who is known for his wrestling. Conor McGregor has yet to face a fighter like Mendes. Even in spite of this McGregor predicted, even offered to bet $3 million, that he will knock out Mendes in the 2nd round. That bet is a little too rich for me. So I’ll make my prediction now that Conor McGregor will knock out Chad Mendes within the 1st minute of the 3rd round.
